Air Gates greatly increase the efficiency of the milking routine as it allows the operator place all his/her focus on the cows. There is no unnecessary exiting the pit to close gates, simply press the button located in the pit to operate the air gates. Guillotine gates are used at the front of the parlour and either guillotine or swing-across gates are used at the back. All four air gates can be controlled from each air gate control box. Cluster Flushing - A very effective system for reducing the spread of mastitis from cow to cow. With this system, the cluster is firstly rinsed with water, then flushed with water & peracetic acid, & finally, rinsed with compressed air to dry the cluster for the next cow. Drafting Gates – Positioned on the exit run of a parlour, drafting gates operate using Electronic Ear Tags (EID) or ID Collars. They can be controlled manually from a control box or from capable milk meter display units in the pit in conjunction with the SmartDairy Controller or the BouMatic Smartphone App. BGM Ireland can provide 2 or 3 way drafting gate systems. Dump Line Options :
Simple Stall Tap – This is the most basic option, where a vacuum line & a number of stall taps are fitted down along the pit to provide vacuum to a bucket plant unit for milking separately of a particular cow. Dump Line Toggle Switch – A toggle switch is fitted at each unit to divert milk from a problem cow into a dump line. Electronic Dump Line – A dump line control box with indicator lights is fitted to divert milk into a dump line. Indicator lights on the control box show clearly where milk is flowing reducing operator error. Combi Fast Dump Line System - Combi Fast cluster & pulsator units are supplied & hung at a station within the pit. Combi Fast dump line sockets are fitted every two units, along an independent dump line & vacuum line. Simply bring the Combi Fast cluster to a station nearest a problem cow, plug in the Combi Fast unit, milk the cow without any concerns about remembering to redirect that unit back to the bulk tank when finished.All dump lines are directed to their own receiver & milk pump, & are washed after each milking.

Heat Detection / Health Monitoring – The RealTime Activity system uses ID neck collars to collect data from each cow. This data includes, heat detection, feeding, rumination, walking & lying down or rest time activity. All this information can be accessed & acted upon from a desktop PC or the BouMatic Smartphone App. The system uses long range antennas without the requirement for cows to pass through a parlour ID system & operates to ISO identification standards. Herd Management Software – The SmartDairy Controller uses HerdMetrix herd management software developed by BouMatic. This herd management software centralises individual cow & herd information, including feeding, milk yield, health & treatments, heat & fertility, that can be used to control drafting gates, program feed to yield & formulated into a selection of management reports. The software can used on a desktop PC or remotely on a mobile smart device. Machine Washing :
Low Level Wash Line System - is positioned at waist height for optimum operator comfort to attach clusters. Before milking, the washer trays & line, can be folded down underneath the kerb out of the way during milking. All BGM Ireland machines are fitted with an Air Injection Wash System. During the washing cycle, the machine builds up a quantity of water at the end of the milk line that fills the line, it then blasts through this full pipe of water to ensure that all surfaces of larger milk lines are washed thoroughly. Wash Troughs - Stainless steel wash troughs are supplied in a range of sizes, manufactured from high grade stainless steel to last & are usually wall mounted for easy of cleaning. Guardian Supreme Automatic Washer – Automatic machine washing ensures correct, consistent washing of a machine after each milking. Saving a lot of time, the Auto. washer is fully programmable in terms of detergent dosing, wash time & cycles. Pre-Milk Rinsing is a programmable option. Fitted with 3 peristaltic chemical pumps for accurate dosing, to eliminate waste of expensive products & the handling of dangerous chemicals. One start button integrated with the milking machine controls, the Guardian Supreme has “Milk Mode” & “Wash Mode” sensors, that won’t allow the milking to start with the milk pipe in wash position or vice versa. Milk Meters – BGM Ireland offer a selection of milk metering options. Starting with the simple standalone GMI+ Milk Yield Indicator model, that provides simple basic milk yield & milk time information. There are two higher specification models offering optional interface with the SmartDairy Controller using HerdMetrix Software providing feed to yield, heat detection & drafting gate management from a PC or smart device. The AMI Milk Yield Indicator model provides Milk Conductivity & Milk Curve Graph information. The Touchpoint SmartMeter Milk Meter in addition to all the functionally of the two previous models, is ISO 66 rated, ICAR approved for milk recording, has a touch screen display & includes a sampling port. Milk Receivers & Milk Pumps – Two types of receivers are available, vertical & horizontal. Horizontal models are more commonly used, with sight glasses each end & come complete with a sanitary trap. Designed with Vertical Side Milk Entry, the milk inlet is connected vertically along the side of receiver, allowing milk to enter & flow along the curve of the receiver avoiding splashing & foaming. Electric Centrifugal Milk Pumps with steel impellors are fitted as standard. Where a plate cooler is being used, a Variable Speed Drive Milk Pump may be fitted, to reduce the speed of the pump when milk levels are low in the receiver, to slow down milk flow through the plate cooler, optimising the effectiveness of a plate cooler & effectively reducing milk cooling costs. An Air Purge System is normally fitted to blow any milk left in milk line after milking into the tank before washing & to blow any water out of the milk line after washing before milking. Magnum Flex 40 Vented Liner - Ensures better cow comfort & faster milking. Vented liners give you 4 air intake points per cluster, increasing milk flow rate away from the teat end into the claw, reducing back splash onto the teat, reducing cross contamination & infections. Sequential Bailing is an excellent way of holding cows in the parlour. Sequenced gates ensure the cows go into the correct space each time. This system is designed in a way that eliminates poaching of feed, reduces stress on the cows and allows perfect alignment for ease of cluster attachment. Depending on your preference, stalls or frames can be made to suit 2ft 6in (50 Degree) or 2ft 3in (85 Degree) standing parlours. There is a crossover bar on each unit and the frame is reinforced from above by RSJs every 5 units, giving a rigid, robust frame, that will stand the test of time. Zig-zag rump rails can also be supplied for 2ft 6in parlours. Rump rail dough deflection panels can be fitted as an option. Straight Trough Systems are made of heavy-duty stainless steel and come complete with adjustable breast rail and anti-jump rail.
